Teachers Are The KeyThe 2010 DanceDanceRevolution West Virginia State Championship takes place in the last half of the 2009/2010 Academic School Year in the State of West Virginia public schools. The role of teachers in the 2010 DanceDanceRevolution West Virginia State Championship is critical. Teachers are the administrators for round one of the 2010 DanceDanceRevolution West Virginia State Championship tournament.

School Eligibility The following are the eligibility requirements for participating schools are as follows:

- A teacher at your school must have been trained by West Virginia Games for Health on the use of the DanceDanceRevolution product

- Your school must have the proper equipment at your school in order to conduct the tournament**

- A teacher or administrator must be designated as the round one Tournament Administrator

- That staff member must complete the registration process and take the online administrator training

The online course and self assessment survey provide the prospective Tournament Administrator with a one hour online training in how to administer the tournament. After the training is complete, the newly trained administrator will be sent the Tournament Information Packet via email. The Tournament Information Packet contains everything needed to administer the round one tournament.

**NOTE: If your school has been through training with West Virginia Games for Health, you have all equipment required to participate in the tournament.

About The Tournament Qualifier Tournaments will be held in your school during school hours and presided over by the teacher who completes the online training described herein. The top two finishers from round one at your school are eligible to participate in round two, the Regional Qualifier. The top two finishers from Round Two are eligible to take part in, the State Finals. At the State Finals, the winners from each age division will be awarded a $2,500.00 Scholarship.

The tournament will take place between February 1, 2010 and late May, 2010. The age divisions for the 2010 tournament are:

- Elementary Division – Grades 3 through 5

- Middle School Division – Grades 6 through 8

- High School Division – Grades 9 through 12
